Randal Lee was born in Dexter, MO and has been a Cape Girardeau resident since age two. He always had a passion for music, listening to everything from Roy Acuff to ZZ Top. Country music was what his folks enjoyed, so it was a very strong influence in his early years.
An electrician by trade, Randal became acquainted with Cousin Carl while doing electrical work at KWKZ. He never imagined his profession would lead him to a second career in the music industry. But over a period of four to five years, when their conversations turned to music, Randal shared his love and knowledge of pure country. He was shocked one day when Cuz asked if he’d like to try out as a DJ!
“I was on cloud nine,” said Randal. “I went home and told my wife about the offer, not sure I was prepared for the challenge. Her remarks were, “Don’t be stupid, Go for it!” Randal and Janie Brown have made the Wednesday Night Bluegrass Show a great success.
