Leevon is local to the C106.1 listening area. He grew up just 40 miles out of Cape Girardeau in Arab, Missouri. Leevon grew up listening to C106.1.
"I have wanted to work in radio since I was little," said Leevon. "Cousin Carl has always been a hero of mine and now I get to work for him; it's great."
Leevon graduated from Zalma High School in 2008. He started working for C106.1 part time in the spring of 2011 while attending Southeast Missouri State University, where he graduated in May of 2012 with a Bachelors Degree in Radio and a minor in music.
Leevon heads up his own bluegrass band, the Leevon DeCourley Band, and has also toured the country with various bluegrass and country bands including the Justin Heskett Band from Campbell, Missouri, Tommy Brown and the County Line Grass, from Mt. Washington, Kentucky, and the Men of the Week, from St. Louis Missouri.
Leevon can be heard weekdays from Noon until 2:00 on C106.1. He occasionally fills in for Randal Lee on the "Midweek Bluegrass Breakdown" as well.
